Health Gorilla allows you to manage your health information. You can easily request and retrieve your medical records, and connect and message with your doctors. Creating an account is free.

The sign up process for a Patient account takes about 5 minutes.

1. Enter following information: name, date of birth, gender, address, and email.
2. Verify your email address. Your email address is also your username.
3. Answer a few questions to verify your identity.
4. You must be 18 years or older to create an account.

Health information is sensitive. The information you provide helps us verify your identity so that we know that you, and not someone else, has access to your information. Health Gorilla is a HIPAA compliant system and undergoes regular security testing and certifications. You own your data. Health Gorilla does not sell user or patient data.

After you create an account, you have the opportunity to request medical records from a national network. Because we want to make sure that we only retrieve your medical records, you be required to go through an additional level of ID verification that meets NIST 800-63-3 IAL2 standards. These additional steps include supplying a photo of a driver's license or passport, a selfie, and the last four digits of your SSN. This information is used for verification purposes only. Health Gorilla does not retain this information.

Unfortunately, one of these documents is required to verify your identity when you request your health records.

There could be a few of reasons why your identity could not be verified. You can try the process again and confirm that you've entered all the information correctly.
