We are excited to announce that Steve Yaskin, Health Gorilla’s co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, has been recognized as one of the Top 50 Healthcare Technology CEOs by The Healthcare Technology Report (THTR).
Each year, THTR recognizes top-performing CEOs, women leaders, and executives in the health IT industry. This year’s list comprises a wide array of some of the most accomplished executives in the healthcare technology industry, who have led their firms in advancing and revolutionizing healthcare solutions, spearheading innovations in patient experience and software platforms, medical devices, therapeutics, and more.
Under Yaskin’s direction, Health Gorilla has developed an industry-leading Health Interoperability Platform that allows the entire healthcare ecosystem to securely access and share aggregated health data. The Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR)-native platform supports a diverse set of clinical use cases and improves outcomes across the country by ensuring providers have timely and efficient access to actionable information.
Yaskin co-founded Health Gorilla in 2014 and has led the company through three strategic funding rounds — including a $50 million Series C round in March 2022. We doubled our employee headcount in 2021 and saw a 200 percent increase in annual recurring revenue (ARR) and an 87 percent increase in our customer base. Also this year, we partnered with LexisNexis Risk Solutions to incorporate social determinants of health (SDOH) scores into our interoperability platforms and are seeking a Qualified Health Information Network (QHIN) designation under the Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement (TEFCA).
“This honor is a testament to the dedication that everyone here at Health Gorilla has shown every day in our interoperability journey,” Yaskin said in a press release. “I am pleased to be recognized along with so many leaders with the same goal — to improve healthcare with technology.”
Before founding Health Gorilla, Yaskin was the Chief Technology Officer for Elite Medical Center, a provider organization specializing in Primary Care and Geriatrics that served more than 50,000 active primary care and chronic disease management patients. The company was acquired by Carbon Health in 2020.
Earlier in his career, Yaskin founded and served as Chief Technology Officer for Queplix, a data virtualization software firm that enabled customers to securely integrate, deploy, and manage cloud and on-premises applications and data. At the time of acquisition, Queplix had licensed its data management software to 15 Fortune 50 companies.
